GLE was subcontracted by Winslow Infrastructure to deliver the drainage infrastructure for Operations Road, a key component of the future Melbourne Airport industrial precinct development. The scope included the installation of nearly 1 km of stormwater drainage, featuring 400 m of 1800 mm diameter reinforced concrete pipes (RCPA Ecocrete) manufactured from recycled materials, underscoring the project’s commitment to sustainability. GLE’s 50-tonne excavator, equipped with an advanced lift management system, facilitated the precise and safe placement of these large-diameter pipes alongside 11-tonne precast concrete pits. The equipment’s load control capabilities ensured efficient handling and installation, minimising risk and maintaining project timelines. This project showcased GLE’s expertise in executing large-scale drainage works with an emphasis on environmental responsibility and operational efficiency.
